TWEEDY JUNIOR BREAD MOULDER

Maintenance

The Tweedy Junior Moulder has been designed to give many years of efficient and reliable service and in order to maintain the unit at peak efficiency, the following items should be checked regularly:

Conveyor Belt

The belt should be thoroughly cleaned at the end of each shift and all foreign matter removed. The pressure board should be removed and cleaned at the same time. To remove the pressure board, adjust the board to the highest postion and slide the board towards the sheeting head. This will cause the seating lugs to disengage from the locating ferrules attached to the guide bars. Remove the side guides and clean but do not lubricate. Visual inspection of the belt edges will reveal whether tracking adjustment is required. Clockwise roation of the right hand adjuster will move the belt towards the left and similarly the left hand adjuster will move the belt to the right. Do not impose excess tension on the belt as this may cause premature bearing wear.

Sheeting Head Rollers

These rollers are specially coated and should be kept clean. Do not attempt to scrape debris off with any sharp-edged object. A nylon scraper should suffice.

Drive

Adjustment of the drive chain is by both automatic and manual tensioning. Access to the chain and tensioners is gained after removing the bottom cladding below the conveyor bed. The side panels can be sprung loose.

The manual tensioners are then accessible and are adjusted on slide rail mountings. The chain should have a free movement of 3/16" at the centre of the longest run between the roller drive sprockets. The integral motor/gearbox unit is sealed for life and requires no lubrication. Periodically check the motor mounting fasterers for security and tighten if required.

General

All adjustment rod threads and clevises should receive a light smear of divider oil, once weekly. The central guide plates within the hopper should be cleaned daily and all foreign matter removed The chain mail pieces within the sheeting head should be removed and cleaned daily.
